This means watching commanded solenoid duty cycles against actual pressure responses, monitoring clutch fill times, and observing torque converter lockup behavior across multiple gear changes. The patterns in this live data tell a story that no static trouble code can convey. An experienced transmission technician can often identify a failing component from the shape of a pressure graph or the timing of a clutch engagement event. This level of interpretation requires years of transmission-specific experience and access to manufacturer calibration data that specifies exactly what normal behavior looks like for each specific unit.
